My own thoughts after watching the Changing Education Paradigms

To know how good or how bad a person is, it is based on his or her education. Education is the basic thing to change society. In the history, when one county adopts different type of governments, they educate people when different ideology. Through education, people are brainwashed. I think I have gone off topic, anyway education is very powerful. In the world today, study in the university is the essential ingredient for future jobs. Now everywhere or even on a street, there is at least one graduate in the street. Our education needs more creativity, not just like teach and teach, well, that is another problem. The teaching style depends on the school acquirement or the teachers. There is a big difference between the past and current; my father told me that is his years, getting an education is hard, costs a lot of money, and limited opportunity to go to the university. However, today we have bunch of PhDs with no jobs, people with high degree suffered unemployment. That needs to be changed in the future

Reflection of the curious incident of the dog in the night-time Ch 101-163

What happens is that Christopher leaves his book on the kitchen then his dad comes back and read the book, as the result they have a fight. I think his dad is probably prone to violence. He swears a lot, attacks Christopher, and even kills the dog. If anything happens above, you must call 113---a family helping line. Later on Christopher finds out more secrets, he knows that his father lies, and knows his mom is still alive. His dad collapses when he sees Christopher reading the letters send from mom. His father did really go through many hardships, or else he would not be that upset. Sometimes in our life, yes, we do have to lie; and it is the only way. It is hard to be honest in anytime.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, page 1-61 Reflection

First when I started reading this book, I was like this book will be a detective story. However it is not like any other books I have read before. It really hooked me into his mind, and I think Christopher is a cool boy. He did things organized, like he doesn’t like to be touched, he even hit policeman, how brave! Then his thoughts are different as well, I don’t think he is autism, he’s just special. His dad is a cool guy too, swears a lot. His family suffered affairs, his mother left him and to live with other man (I read ahead because it is just too attractive.) The dog has been killed by Christopher’s _ _ _ because of uncontrolled emotions. His mother is not really dead; Christopher’s father lied about it. Come and think about, I think I will do the same. Anyway, this book is cool, and it included many of the interesting figures in the book, which makes the book more vivid. Great book!

Shutting Out the Kids from the Family Fortune Reflection

Whenever a parent dies, the inheritance problem exists. If the parents have lots of children, who is he likely to give his fortune to? The first thing comes to my mind is that there is one millionaire called Wang Yun-Ching in Taiwan, he has several kids, and his sons and daughters are fighting for the inheritance. He didn’t name the successor to inherit his business, that’s why his family is so messed up right now.

Questions: 1. If you lived to be old and very wealthy, would you leave all your money to your children?
If not, why not?
If so, would you favor males over females or the first born?
I would give all of my money to my sons because they are the one I can evaluate in my life. I will be observing their actions, and their concepts about money. To give it to male or female it depends on their ability, however, I like sons more therefore I would probably give the money to sons instead of daughters. First born or not, it depends which one I liked the most.
Would you give anything to grandchildren, or like the person in the article, leave money to the generations living after your grandchildren? Explain.
No I would not. I don’t even know my grandsons, why would I give my moneys to them? The person in the article is awkward, what if his grandsons are abused of gambling? All of his money would be gone at a round in casino, no matter how rich you are. At least I can see my sons’ action during my life; I can judge them and then decide who I am going to give the money after my death.
What percentage should go to charity?
My mother usually brought lotteries, and of she wins, she would give 90% of the money to charity. Why, because she thinks that money doesn’t belong to her and with lots of money is dangerous too, gangs will be looking forward you family. However lotteries are different than the money that you earned. Like Bill Gates, he gives a lot of money to charity, for thanking the society. I will give 50% of my money to charity, to those who need help as well. Another 50% of my money would go to me or to my children. Why to myself? Because I want to travel around the world when I am old.

Cycling Trip

The cycling trip was awesome! When we are in Eastern Taiwan, the road is more challenging, up and down up and down. Also, there are many planting fields beside us; we saw much small green rice growing. Fruits were another important figure; many of the delicious fruits were beside us, such as watermelon, grape, and mango. Fields after another, it was amazing! On the other hand, Western Taiwan is a little bit boring; the road was always the same – flat. Sometimes when we were riding, some of us fall in asleep, very dangerous. There are many dead animal bodies on the road such as bird, rat, cat, frog, even turtle… We have learned a lot of things, some people said never give up, but for myself, I think I have learned how to stand on my own feet. Every night I have to wash my own cloth, and keep the room clean. Anyway, if I had another chance to go to the cycling trip again, my answer would be “yes”
